Hi, my name is George Niedoba.

STT Track Day at Barber Motorsports Park

I was born in 1975 in Czech Republic. In 1996 I moved to USA to get a taste of a different country. Country where, if you work hard, you can play hard and it sure was dream come true! Soon as I saved enough money, I bought my first "nice" motorcycle. (I owned many bikes back at home, but I always spend more time in my shop working on them, than riding) It was 1997 Suzuki GSXR600 and it was great. Tennessee has some of the nicest roads I have ever seen so it was where I spend most of my free time. In 1999, Yamaha come out with the brand new R6 and I just had to have it. What a difference I thought as I felt in love with the new bike. 10 000 miles later and I was riding on a street like it was a Race Track, dragging my knee pucks in every comer, riding mile long wheelies. I know it was dangerous, but than it was nearly impossible to take it to the Race Track and I was having so much fun. Well till April 15. of 2000 when I met my match, blind left hand turn with guardrail that I survived only thanks to my friends that where riding with me. The outcome of that day left me with partial Paralysis to my right side upper body and full Paralysis of my right arm from my elbow down:(

It took me almost two years and a good friend to realize that where is a will, there is a way. I figured I would start with four wheels firs and bought Honda 400EX. Couple of long nights later it was setup with a reversed left hand thumb throttle, EZ Pull clutch and linked front and rear breaks on a right foot. It worked great. I had mud everywhere for days! I was back in the saddle!

Soon after that I started thinking about riding motorcycle again. 1999 Ducati Monster 750 caught my eye and before I know it I was robbing my fourwheeler out of the proven thumb throttle and linking my breaks together. Than it was time for a test ride and I have to admit, I was very nervous at least. Firs gear, second and third and I went straight to a bike heaven! It was at that time, when I realized how big part of my life motorcycles are and always will be.

After about a year on the Monster I started looking for a sport bike as there isn't anything like 15000 Rpm red line. Guess what, Yamaha had new model R6 out and again, I couldn't resist. The one that I found was wrecked so after little repairs, coat of primer and new version of the left hand setup, it was time to take it to the race track for my first track day. I had a blast and become totally addicted to performance track riding.

Today I'm on my second track bike (CBR600RR) and third year of being staff member of SportBike Track Time Southern Division.
